The following chapter shows how to use RStudio to test hypotheses. Hereby, the decision tree (Fig. 6.1: Guide to select tests) will help to decide which test should be used. We see that it is crucial to know whether we test for group differences or relationships between variables and whether the test variable is metric, ordinal or nominal. Furthermore, the question arises whether metric test variables are normally distributed.
